Helped with anxiety

I tried Talkspace for my anxiety and it went pretty well. The therapist I got was cool and responded to my messages often. It was nice to just text whenever something came up. The video sessions were easy too. Definitely helped me feel a bit better about things. No big complaints.

Convenient but matching took time

I decided to try Talkspace for some relationship counseling. The convenience of doing sessions from home was a huge plus, especially with our busy schedules. The platform was easy enough to use, and once we found a therapist, the Couples Therapy sessions were productive. My main criticism was the therapist matching service; it took a little longer than I expected to find someone who felt like a good fit. We went through two initial matches before settling on our third, which added a bit of a delay to getting started. However, customer service was helpful when I requested a switch. The cost was reasonable, especially compared to local in-person options, but I did wish the initial matching process was more streamlined. Value-wise, it was pretty good for what we got.

Good match, flexible sessions

I signed up for Individual Therapy after a friend suggested Talkspace. The matching service was pretty quick; I answered a few questions and had a couple of options within a day. My therapist, Dr. Emily, was great. We primarily used messaging therapy but also did a live video session once a week, which was super convenient with my work schedule. The platform itself was easy to navigate on my phone, and I never had any tech issues with the video calls. Billing was straightforward, and I used an introductory offer for my first month. It really helped me get started without a huge upfront cost. Overall, it was a solid experience and a good way to get consistent support without the hassle of in-person appointments.

Anyone know if Talkspace works with Anthem Blue Cross plans? Trying to figure out if my insurance will cover it.

L Leah Hall 1 week ago
They list a bunch of insurance partners on their site, so it's possible. You'd have to check their FAQ or put in your info to see if it's covered for you.

I'm not sure about Anthem specifically, but I know they work with many major providers. Best to plug in your insurance details on their site; that's how I found out mine was covered.

Thinking about Talkspace for my son, he's 15. Do they have specific therapists for teens or is it just general individual therapy?

R Richard 1 month ago
They actually have a whole separate thing for teen therapy, with therapists who specialize in working with younger folks. You'd sign him up through that specific service.

Yeah, they definitely have teen therapy. My niece used it and her therapist was super good with her, understood teen issues way better than a general therapist probably would have.

Hey everyone, thinking about trying Talkspace for therapy. Are their therapists actually good? Like, real licensed pros?

B Brittany Torres 1 week ago
Yeah, they totally are. Talkspace says all their therapists are fully licensed and credentialed. Mine's been super helpful.

From what I heard, they all have to be licensed in their state. I think they vet them pretty well before they can join the platform.

Hey, what's the deal with messaging your therapist? Can you just text them whenever, or are there limits?

J Josh Sanchez 4 days ago
You can send messages pretty much anytime. They usually respond daily, like once or twice during business hours. It's not instant chat though.

A Alex Jackson 3 days ago
It's asynchronous, so you send messages and they reply when they can, usually within a day. Don't expect immediate responses like a text convo with a friend, but you can definitely send stuff whenever it pops into your head.

Is Talkspace really worth the money compared to like, BetterHelp? I've seen ads for both and can't decide.

A Ashley Lee 1 week ago
It's a tough call, they're pretty similar. I picked Talkspace because I liked their therapist matching process better, and the plans felt more straightforward for me. Both are legitimate options though.

I've only used Talkspace, but from what I gather, both are good. It probably comes down to personal preference for therapist options and maybe which one has a better deal when you sign up. The core service is pretty much the same - online therapy.
